AREAS to check out:
Crossgates Mall - Long Island boy, Danny Newman, reports that this mall is pretty big. There are even two movie theaters! You can get there via Washington Avenue or Western Avenue.
Wolf Road - Lots of restaurants on this strip (go IHOP!) as well as Barnes and Noble and Borders book stores, and the Colonie Center Shopping Center.
Lark Street - Considered by many the "Greenwich Village of Albany," Lark Street is a trendy area with good food, fun bars, many crafts stores and Ben and Jerry's.
Corning Preserve - A beatiful area on the Hudson River (Exit 4A off highway 787), you can go here to jog or walk around or even picnic.
Saratoga - A beautiful area when the weather is nice; it's about a twenty minute drive north of Albany. There are great restaurants and shopping (brand name and also crafts).
RESTAURANTS:
Albany most definitely has some delicious food! It should be noted that there is not much by way of kosher food. To get kosher products, the Price Chopper located on Route 155 is the place to go.
